Job Description

Join a Company Where Your Work Matters

Pavilion Construction is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented accounting professional to join our finance team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations of multiple construction entities by ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time while maintaining the integrity of our accounting records.

We are looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work, thrives in a collaborative environment, and understands that excellent accounting is about much more than processing transactions - it's about building trust with our project teams, subcontractors, and business partners.

What You'll Do

As our Accounts Payable Accountant, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounts payable functions for several construction-related companies, including:

  • Processing high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently

  • Matching invoices to purchase orders, subcontracts, and supporting documentation

  • Managing weekly check runs and electronic payments

  • Reconciling corporate credit card transactions and employee expense reports

  • Maintaining vendor records, including W-9s and tax documentation

  • Responding professionally to vendor inquiries and resolving discrepancies

  • Assisting with month-end close activities, including AP reconciliations

  • Working closely with Project Managers, Project Accountants, and field personnel to resolve invoice issues

  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and strengthen internal controls

  • Supporting additional accounting projects as assigned

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience

  • Construction industry experience strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles

  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • High level of integrity and accountability

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista is a significant plus

Who You Are

You may not know every system or process on day one, and that's okay. What matters most is how you approach your work.

You are someone who:

  • Brings a positive, solutions-oriented attitude to the team

  • Takes ownership and follows tasks through to completion

  • Is curious, adaptable, and willing to learn

  • Communicates openly and respectfully

  • Notices problems and helps solve them

  • Understands that no task is beneath them when the team needs support

  • Values accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement

  • Enjoys working with people and contributing to a strong company culture

Construction accounting experience is helpful, but we are equally interested in candidates with the right mindset, strong fundamentals, and the ability to grow into the role.

Why Pavilion Construction?

At Pavilion, we believe great accounting professionals are business partners-not back-office processors. You'll work directly with leadership, contribute to meaningful process improvements, and become part of a team that values collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

We offer a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, retirement plan with company match, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth. This is an in-office position.

If you're looking for a place where your work is appreciated and your contributions make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Benefit Package includes:

  • Medical | Dental | Vision

  • HRA & FSA

  • Employer Paid LTD

  • Employer Paid Life Insurance

  • 401K/Roth *4% match

  • PTO

  • 11 Paid Holidays
