Cash Posting Specialist Location: US-CA-Santa Clarita Job ID: 347471 Overview Concentra is seeking a Cash Posting Specialist to support our employer clients by accurately posting payments, handling adjustments, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The role requires timely and precise handling of cash application activities within the Concentra Practice Management system. Employment Type: Full-time Schedule: 1st shift / standard business hours (Monday-Friday) Work Environment: 100% onsite (in-office) Location: Avenue Stanford Santa Clarita, CA Responsibilities Apply payments to appropriate accounts such as Workers Compensation; Patient/Private/Group Health (Cash & Credit Card) and Employer/Contract. Transfer payments to other Central Business Offices. Apply Zero pay EOBs and appropriate reasons for Zero pay. Ensure payments are recorded in an accurate and timely manner. Manually post daily cash assignments. Post cash and adjustments per remittance or Explanation of Benefit (EOB). Read and interpret EOBs, balance, and resolve posting errors. Balance daily posting against internal control totals. Manage unidentified cash or payments received with no backup. Post 100% denials or short paid charges. Post and balance payments received through the mail from patients, customers, and insurance companies. Post all receipts ensuring the totals match the check total amount. Close daily payments and batches. Identify daily EOBs needing reconsideration. Prepare and disburse all daily reconsiderations to appropriate carrier/TPA. Maintain status report for reconsiderations and correction of EOBs. Identify incorrect payments and billing due to changes such as address or pricing. Submit employer/contract changes for verification per the customer service package. Escalate issues preventing accurate cash application to leadership. Apply appropriate worker compensation adjustments (Focus, First Health, CCN, contractual, etc.). Apply appropriate employer (contract) adjustments, customer service, price, etc. File monthly batches. Ensure adjustment requests have proper supporting documentation. Meet or exceed departmental productivity standards. Meet all monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close deadlines related to cash application duties. Specialty training in medical billing and posting preferred. Job-Related Experience Customarily has at least six months of demonstrated medical revenue cycle experience. This position is eligible to earn a base compensation rate in the range of $22.00 to $23.50 hourly, depending on job‑related factors as permitted by applicable law, such as level of experience, geographic location where the work is performed, and/or seniority.
