Government Contracts Associate Attorney
Direct Counsel is seeking a Government Contracts Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in Washington, D.C.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 3-5 years of government contracts experience to join a nationally recognized Government Contracts practice. The team advises contractors across all phases of the federal procurement lifecycle, including regulatory compliance, bid protests, contract disputes, investigations, and government contracts transactions.
ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and related agency supplements.
Represent clients in bid protests before government agencies and tribunals.
Counsel clients on federal grant compliance and related regulatory requirements.
Advise on government contracts compliance, procurement strategies, and risk management.
Draft and negotiate government contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, and joint venture agreements.
Support mergers and acquisitions involving government contractors, including government contracts due diligence.
Assist with government contracts litigation and investigations, including Contract Disputes Act (CDA) claims, False Claims Act (FCA) matters, whistleblower claims, and prime-subcontractor disputes.
Collaborate with clients on complex procurement, compliance, and transactional matters.
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active membership in, or eligibility for admission to, the District of Columbia Bar .
3-5 years of government contracts experience at a law firm, government contracts boutique, or government agency.
Significant experience with bid protests and counseling clients on FAR compliance.
Experience advising clients on federal grant compliance.
Experience with government contracts litigation, investigations, and transactional matters is preferred.
Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, and client counseling skills.
Excellent academic credentials and the ability to manage sophisticated matters in a collaborative environment.
Salary: $260,000-$390,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
