An international freight forwarding company is urgently seeking 3 entry-level Import / Export Coordinators for its key office near Chicago O’Hare International Airport. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates in Supply Chain Management or individuals seeking to start a new career in global business. This is a 100% onsite, full-time, non-exempt contract position with a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities Compile master bills and break down consolidations into house air/ocean bills. Verify system-generated information against actual shipping documents to ensure accuracy. Maintain shipment files by entering and updating data, including opening files, billing, issuing applicable forms and documents, and closing files in the online system. Communicate clearly, promptly, and effectively with overseas offices, agents, customers, and domestic vendors. Responsibilities include notifying customers of shipment arrivals, distributing documentation, tracking shipment movement from origin to destination, arranging cargo release and delivery according to customer requirements, proactively providing shipment status updates, and handling shipment exceptions such as delayed flights or split shipments. Support accounting processes within the break bulk department, including printing invoices, correcting rates, transferring fees, revising prepaid/collect charges, and filing claims for damaged goods. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications – Import/Export Coordinator High school diploma or higher degree in Supply Chain Management, Global Logistics, Operations Management, International Business, or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Outlook Excellent data entry and customer service skills, with the ability to manage detailed information and interact with a diverse range of individuals. Experience in Import/Export Air/Ocean operations within a freight forwarder, NVOCC, or customs brokerage environment is preferred. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Ability to work independently and professionally to meet both internal and external customer needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to meeting operational key performance indicators (KPIs). Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
