We are looking to hire a Public Relations and Media Coordinator with superb project management and organizational skills. The candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to multitask in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment.

To ensure success, the candidate should also demonstrate excellent time management skills, incredible creativity with a keen interest in creating and implementing cost-efficient and effective media campaigns.

The ideal candidate should also have good critical thinking and planning skills. We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, a strong team player with a positive attitude, thinks outside the box, and takes initiative.

PUBLIC RELATIONS & MEDIA COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reports directly to the Communications Manager on all projects and tasks.
• Identify press and media coverage opportunities through evolving issues.
• Develop content for print, online, and social media platforms and distribution channels.
• Works under the directive of the Communications Manager to ensure that critical messages align with the association’s strategic plan, tone, mission, and vision.
• Serve as the media liaison to the association.
• Scan media marketplace to keep up to date on the latest media trends.
• Manage association social media platforms, profiles and presence.
• Work with Communication Manager in building long-term relationships with media outlets.
• Must have the flexibility, mindset, and the ability to adapt and undertake new projects and responsibilities as assigned, such as staff liaison assignment to committee(s), etc.
• Creation of dedicated campaign/target emails and association newsletters (weekly general membership, biweekly education, and monthly broker newsletter).
• Serves as staff liaison to committees and/or work groups, as assigned.
• Creation of unique social media content highlighting association projects, meetings, events, publications, etc.
• Other tasks assigned as needed.

PUBLIC RELATIONS & MEDIA COORDINATOR REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills.
• Must be proficient in video and web content development.
• Possess a deep understanding and aptitude of social media best practices.
• Demonstrable experience with building effective media campaigns across platforms.
• Ability to facilitate press conferences and briefings.
• A natural leader who displays strong decision-making and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word); video software such as Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, Canva, Descript, etc.
• Have experience & knowledge with podcast software such as Adobe Audition, etc.
• 3 + years’ experience in social media management and similar work: creating, posting, social posts/reels/stories on Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.
• Experience with Hootsuite, Meta Business, or other social media scheduling platforms & analytics
• Must be available to participate in after-hours association events and cover event photography/videography as needed.
• Must have the willingness to learn about real estate industry trends and innovations.
• Monitor GBR association image frequently and work with Communications Manager to prepare crisis communications when necessary.
• A degree in media, journalism, or a related field.
