TITLELicensed or Staff Psychologist /Group Therapy CoordinatorTexas Woman's University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), DentonJOB SUMMARY This position provides comprehensive psychological services to a culturally diverse student population. Duties regularly include the following: intake assessments; individual, couples, and group therapy; crisis intervention; clinical supervision of trainees as assigned; and outreach to the campus community. This position is also responsible for the coordination and management of CAPS group therapy and outreach programming. On a less regular basis, the position includes consultation with faculty, staff and students. CAPS staff also routinely serve on campus wide committees as approved by the Director. Works together as a collaborative team member and promotes open and direct internal communication as well as a commitment to life-long personal and professional growth. Places the highest value on ethical practice and is committed to providing the best possible service to clients. Work is performed under general supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with University Policies & Procedures. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSReports to: Director, Counseling and Psychological ServicesSupervises: Trainees as assignedESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:Provides direct psychological service including individual, couples and group therapy as well as formulating diagnosis and treatment plans.Performs intake assessments. Responsible for crisis intervention. Responsible for coordinating the CAPS group therapy program including, but not limited to, overseeing administrative tasks, promotion/marketing of group offerings, and serving as consultant to other staff on group therapy related issues.Responsible for coordination of outreach requests.Performs preventative mental health outreach programming.Performs consultation with faculty, staff and students regarding mental health related issues.Maintains up-to-date recordkeeping on clients using Titanium, CCAPS-62, and other web-based technologies.Follows policies and procedures to collect data and ensures data integrity to maintain accurate statistics on CAPS service utilization.Provides clinical supervision to psychology trainees as assigned.Participates in weekly meetings related to psychology trainees as well as other staff meetings.Continues to maintain professional competencies through participation in professional organizations and through attendance at relevant conferences and workshops.Maintains licensure or works towards licensure in a timely manner.Adheres to workplace safety policies and procedures.ADDITIONAL DUTIESServes on campus wide activities as approved by the Director.Participates in Student Life Division activities.Performs other duties as requested.EDUCATION Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology. Pre-doctoral internship at an APA-accredited university counseling center site is preferred.EXPERIENCEAt least one year of post-doctoral experience in a university counseling center is preferred; clinical experience with women’s issues, and a commitment to working with a diverse clientele is essential. Additionally, experience conducting group therapy is required. Proven ability to coordinate a clinical service program is also desired. Licensure as a Psychologist is preferred although unlicensed individuals will be considered. If licensed in a state other than Texas, the individual will be required to obtain licensure in Texas within 12 months of employment. If unlicensed, the individual will be required to obtain licensure in Texas within 18 months of employment.REQUIREMENTRegular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position. These peak times include increased clinical caseload, crisis intervention, and training/supervision responsibilities which require increased stamina.Ability to maintain a consistent and dependable work schedule adhering to state requirements for employee work hours.Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely and appropriate manner.Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including related university software and email.
