Job Description

Job Purpose

The Corporate Security Manager, Americas plays a critical role in supporting and executing Valvoline Global Operations' (VGO) enterprise-wide security programs and initiatives across the US, Canada, and South America Regions. Reporting to the Director, Global Security, this role provides hands-on operational support, conducts risk assessments and investigations, and contributes to incident response and threat monitoring. This role helps ensure the safety and security of VGO personnel, facilities, and assets, while maintaining compliance with policies and procedures.

 

This position operates within the Human Resources function and collaborates closely with internal stakeholders across Legal, IT, and Global Security, including regional partners in EMEA and APAC. The role brings a broad-based understanding of security practices and applies sound judgment in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.

 

How You Make an Impact (Job Accountabilities)

Security Operations & Program Support

  • Execute day-to-day security operations in alignment with VGO's global security strategy.
  • Serves to fill in and support coverage for Director, Global Security on an as needed basis.
  • Assumes ownership of monitoring regional security alerts and global geo-political events for potential impacts to VGO people or operations.
  • Oversee regional badging system and coordination with HR and IT activities relating to employee security access.
  • Collaborate with VGO Security Technician, VGO Real Estate, site stakeholders, and vendors on corrective measures pertaining to physical security access & control, visitor management, CCTV, and alarm systems at VGO sites across the region.
  • Coordinate increased security measures and off-duty security services as needed.
  • Assist with periodic tabletop drills and/or training for regional VGO locations.
  • Support implementation of policies, procedures, and physical security protocols.

 

Incident Response & Investigations

  • Assist in managing and documenting security incidents, threats, or breaches.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations in collaboration with Legal, HR, and IT as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential records of investigations and outcomes.

 

Risk Assessment & Threat Intelligence

  • Assist with conducting site risk assessments throughout the Americas region and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct executive protection security advances as needed and determine appropriate security measures to be implemented.
  • Assist in security planning and coordination with VGO and venue stakeholders for large events.
  • Assume ownership of travel security awareness and assist with travel risk management protocols for VGO employees.
  • Gather, analyze, and disseminate threat intelligence to relevant stakeholders.

 

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key liaison to regional security counterparts in EMEA/APAC.
  • Partner with internal teams including Facilities, HR, and IT Security to ensure a cohesive and proactive security posture.
  • Support executive protection and event security planning as needed.

 

Tools, Systems, and Reporting

  • Utilize designated tools and platforms to monitor, log, and report on security-related activities.
  • Support regional security metrics tracking and reporting.
  • Remain apprised of technological advancements within the security field with the aim to improve overall cost and/or efficiency to the security function.

 

What You Bring to the Role (Job Qualifications / Education / Skills / Requirements / Capabilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7-10 years of professional experience in corporate security, investigations, or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of physical security principles, risk mitigation, and investigative techniques
  • Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and discretion
  • Experience and knowledge of executive protection principles and methodologies preferred
  • Ability to adapt and overcome unique and unforeseen challenges across an active global, geo-political landscape
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to positively influence, motivate, and lead VGO stakeholders and employees in security-focused initiatives and awareness campaigns
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
  • Experience working across functions and geographies
  • Familiarity with corporate tools for incident tracking, access control, and threat monitoring is preferred

  • May require occasional travel (<20%) for site assessments, support, or training

  • Must be able to perform site walks, physical inspections, and related activities as needed
  • Typical office environment with use of standard computer equipment
